Job summary

OPmobility seeks an Automation Technician to maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, robotic, and automation systems in a high-uptime manufacturing setting. You will coordinate PLC hardware/software activities, develop automation programs, and support maintenance teams.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI tools, and industrial robotics, plus strong schematic-reading and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms and ladder logic.
• Experience with HMI software (RSLogix, Wonderware, PanelView).
• Experience with industrial robotics systems (Fanuc/ABB/KUKA).
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial networks (ControlNet, Modbus, Profibus).
• Strong troubleshooting and continuous improvement skills.
• English proficiency for manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, robotic, and automation systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
• Coordinate technical activities related to PLC hardware, software, ladder logic, and automation interfaces.
• Develop, modify, and optimize automation programs to improve operational performance and repeatability.
• Provide technical leadership and support to maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Train maintenance and operational personnel on automation systems, robotics, and PLC equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of PLC software revisions, robotic programs, documentation, and electrical schematics.
• Lead automation-related continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
• Coordinate modifications and installation of new automation and robotic systems in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate emerging automation technologies and recommend solutions that improve productivity, reliability, and efficiency.
