Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a site-based Automation Engineer to design, implement, and improve automation control systems across industrial and infrastructure projects.

The role requires deep PLC/Ladder logic expertise, HMI/SCADA experience, and the ability to train teammates while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will work with Operations, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement teams, traveling as needed to central region sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of PLC-controlled automation experience.
• Experience with Ladder Logic and Allen-Brady/ similar.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site technical expert for automation control systems.
• Design, develop, and optimize control systems and software programs.
• Train and mentor junior team members on safety and technical standards.
• Maintain documentation for automation processes and programs.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to drive optimization.
