Job summary

Snohomish County Public Works is seeking a reliable Site Attendant I to support solid waste operations at transfer stations and drop-off facilities. You will handle customer service, process fees, and perform light equipment operations.

This is a training role aimed at earning Site Attendant II/III certifications. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Washington driver’s license, and completion of required safety and equipment certifications within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Must pass job-related tests.
• A valid Washington State Driver’s License required.
• Certification on backhoe, forklift, scale automation system, timekeeping system within six months.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records weights/volumes for materials delivered to transfer stations and recycling areas.
• Collects fees from customers and records cash.
• Directs vehicles to disposal/recycling areas and operates light equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of site and equipment.
• Ensures safety rules are followed and provides courteous customer service.
• Opens/closes gates and may relocate between sites as needed.
