Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid, active Forklift Operator Certification / License is required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of proven sit-down forklift experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with RF scanners or digital Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Demonstrated OSHA regulations knowledge and basic mechanical aptitude for pre-shift checks.

Responsibilities

Job description

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a reliable Sit-Down Forklift Operator in Canton, GA. In this fast-paced and safety-focused role, you will be responsible for operating sit-down propane/electric forklifts, staging and loading palletized materials, and maintaining efficient daily material flow across our warehouse facility.

In a Sit-Down Forklift Operator job you’ll be responsible for:

• Equipment Operation: Safely operating sit-down propane and electric forklifts to move, stage, load, and unload palletized materials and raw goods throughout the facility.
• Loading & Unloading: Safely loading and unloading freight trailers, flatbeds, enclosed box trailers, and placing stock into high-bay racking systems.
• Equipment Safety Checks: Conducting daily pre-shift forklift safety, maintenance, and operational checks to ensure equipment reliability.
• Warehouse & Inventory Handling: Utilizing specialized attachments (such as extended, tapered forks), assisting with general material handling, and utilizing RF scanners or WMS platforms for inventory tracking.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to OSHA workplace safety rules and standard safe load-handling procedures at all times.

What you’ll need:

• Certification: Valid, active Forklift Operator Certification / License required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience operating sit-down forklifts (propane or electric) in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
• Preferred Experience: Familiarity operating forklifts with extended/tapered forks, picking raw materials, and using RF scanners or digital Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Skills & Aptitude: Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, basic mechanical aptitude for daily pre-shift checks, and strong attention to detail.
• Physical Demands & Location: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, sit for extended periods, repeatedly climb on and off equipment, and work full-time on-site in Canton, GA.
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
