Job summary

Alpine School District seeks an experienced Application Specialist (SIS) to serve as the district's technical expert for Skyward Qmlativ. You will configure and maintain the SIS, train staff, and provide Tier 3 escalation support, coordinating with the vendor for complex issues.

The role reports to the Director of Innovative Engineering and requires flexible hours for maintenance windows. Strong knowledge of SIS platforms and data security is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Experience administering and configuring a large-scale Student Information System (e.g., Skyward Qmlativ) in a K-12 or similarly complex environment.
• Strong understanding of SIS data structures, security/access models, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Configures and maintains the SIS environment, including calendars, scheduling, gradebooks, attendance, enrollment workflows, and fee management.
• Manages user accounts, security roles, and access permissions for all SIS users district-wide.
• Coordinates SIS patches, upgrades, and server maintenance with vendor and District Engineering team.
• Monitors SIS performance and availability; administers SIS security.
• Delivers training and in-service sessions on SIS applications for staff.
• Provides Tier 3 escalation support for complex SIS issues and acts as liaison with vendor.
