Gaumard Scientific is seeking a Simulator Installation and Training Specialist to deliver on-site installation, operational training, and ongoing support for our patient simulators at customer sites.

The role emphasizes building product knowledge, professional communication, and meticulous administration. Candidates should be able to travel frequently (75%+), work extended hours as needed, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field preferred.
  • Basic technical aptitude with ability to learn simulator operation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with workstation software/hardware setup and basic maintenance.
  • Proficient in Windows-based systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site installation support and in-service training for Gaumard simulators.
  • Perform setup, system checks, testing, and post-service review per procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with customers to ensure a positive experience.
  • Coordinate scheduling and travel to customer sites; manage service documentation and reporting.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Simulator Installation and Training Specialist is a Sales support role responsible for providing the installation, operational in-service training of Gaumard simulators and related support equipment at customer sites. The objective of the individual in this position is to assist the Gaumard team as a whole and to deliver white glove service to our customer base.

This individual is expected to build foundational product knowledge, customer-facing communication skills, and administrative discipline. The ideal candidate will become a product knowledge expert and be comfortable at skillfully presenting the features and capabilities of the product(s) to clinically competent customers.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Directly reports to the Simulator Installation & Training Manager. Does not supervise any other position(s).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs operational in-service training, installation support, and basic maintenance recommendations for Gaumard standard and advanced patient simulators at customer sites.
  • Performs simulator setup, system checks, software verification, operational testing, customer instruction, final functionality verification, and post-service review in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicates professionally with customers during onsite visits, answers routine questions, and composes standard service interactions while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Responsible for finalizing service details with customer site POC for the onsite training including any additional equipment the customer may need to ensure flawless delivery of Installation and training at every visit.
  • Responsible for reporting and setting up of any additional post visit follow-ups that may be required for customer.
  • Completes required administrative duties, including service documentation, SAP entries, weekly reports, calendar updates, expense submissions, and any related supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for managing calendar and scheduling of visits to customer sites.
  • Follows established Gaumard and department policies, procedures, safety requirements, documentation standards, travel expectations, and established escalation procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree in biomedical, electronics, computer, simulation, medical, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Basic technical aptitude with the ability to develop knowledge of simulator operation, installation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with workstation software, hardware setup, installation, upgrades, or repairs preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers, internal team members, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage time, travel responsibilities, documentation, and assigned work with developing independence.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including after 5:00 p.m. and/or weekends, when required to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to travel 75% or more.
  • Must work well under pressure.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write effectively in a business environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining how to conduct assigned tasks.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Must be willing and able to work some Saturdays or stay beyond scheduled hours if needed.
