Job summary

Impulse Space in Colorado is seeking a Simulation Visualization Engineer to develop and maintain tools for visualizing simulation results and models, emulating camera systems, and producing high-quality renders of space vehicles executing missions.

You will collaborate with GNC, Space Ops, Mission Design, Business Development, and Testbed teams to create displays and test vision systems with faithful models, supporting mission rehearsals and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation of physical systems.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity in Unity, Unreal, or other rendering engines.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing graphical displays for spacecraft sensor data and telemetry monitoring.
  • Demonstrated experience with version control systems such as Git.

Simulation Visualization Engineer

Compensation: $130,000 - $170,000 / year

Description

As a Simulation Visualization Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the tools for visualizing simulation results and models to emulate camera systems. You will work closely with the GNC, Space Ops, Mission Design, Business Development, and Testbed teams to create displays and high-quality renders of our space vehicles executing our missions. Additionally, you will emulate the vision systems we are deploying on orbit with high-fidelity models that enable algorithm development and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with space vehicle dynamics and optical systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.
Additional Information
  • Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
