Job summary

Trace3 is seeking a Software Engineer to develop test and training simulations in C++ with AFSIM, while supporting Java-based components. The role sits on a Scrum team and focuses on high-performance simulation development for AF SIM frameworks, with security clearance requirements and on-site work in Colorado Springs.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of related experience, strong C++, Java, and Spring (XML) skills, plus familiarity with TCP/IP and Pub/Sub.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in software development for simulation.
• Experience with C++ and AFSIM in test and training simulations.
• Experience with Java and Spring framework (XML configurations, not Spring Boot).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an Agile Scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Develop software updates for simulation and training systems using C++ and AFSIM.
• Maintain and extend Java-based components.
• Create new simulation entities and extend frameworks for new behaviors.
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and support software products.
• Debug, document, and improve software with peers.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
• Develop tools for operations automation and performance benchmarking.
• Contribute across multiple phases of software projects with guidance.
