Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, invites applications for a position in the Department of Nursing focused on simulation lab operations and technology support. Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in computer science, information technology or related area and one year in the information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in computer science or information technology or related degree. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities include:
This position must have a knowledge base about the technology associated with simulation lab training. In addition, the position must have a broad understanding of the simulation lab technical systems, including computer hardware and software, LAN equipment and switching/signaling, networking, server-client relationships, A/V equipment. Support experience with high-fidelity human patient simulators and other simulation-related technology is especially important for this position.
Work Schedule/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. There may be times when it is necessary to work beyond the normal work schedule, but this is very rarely.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $50,557 - $53,000
