Job summary

Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN, is seeking an Information Technology Spec 2 – Simulation Operations IT Support Specialist to deliver advanced technical support for simulation and audiovisual systems.

The role maintains, troubleshoots, and optimizes hardware and software, supports capture systems, and partners with faculty to align technology with educational goals, reporting to the Director of Educational Technology and Innovation.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience providing technical support in instructional, classroom, lab, or simulation environments.
• Experience developing and providing training related to the use of software or A/V systems.
• Experience supporting audiovisual and instructional technology in live or scheduled settings.
• Ability to follow established procedures while troubleshooting common technical issues.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support, systems management, and operational oversight for the simulation technology and audiovisual systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize all simulation-related hardware and software systems, including recording servers, cameras, microphones, control systems, and networking components.
• Support the configuration and operation of simulation capture systems.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to align technology solutions with educational goals.
• Report to the Director of Educational Technology and Innovation and help sustain a robust, scalable simulation environment.
