Actalent is seeking a Simulation Engineer in Maple Grove, MN to develop, validate, and integrate aerospace and defense system simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and related tools. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into detailed models and ensure performance meets requirements.

The role supports MBSE practices, requires 2+ years of hands-on MATLAB/Simulink experience, and offers a 9/80 schedule with a long-term contract (12 months or more).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on MATLAB and Simulink experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience with simulation environments and MBSE concepts.
• Experience with control systems in simulation environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional teams.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute system models using MATLAB, Simulink, and related environments.
• Implement GN&C functionality within existing architectures and software frameworks.
• Translate system-level requirements into detailed simulation and software implementations.
• Support model-based design, integration, verification, and validation activities across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with systems, software, and test engineers to troubleshoot issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as test procedures and reports.
• Participate in design reviews and communicate status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
• Support software implementation and integration using Microsoft Visual Studio and C++.
• Execute analysis, simulation, and testing to verify system performance against requirements.
