Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead clinical education, orientation, and ongoing competency verification across a variety of patient care settings. This full-time night-shift role emphasizes evidence-based practice, policy development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The CNE will provide clinical consultation, mentor preceptors, and drive professional development aligned with accreditation standards, while supporting safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license or work permit in Kentucky.
• Three (3) years of acute care experience in the designated specialty within the last five (5) years.
• BSN from accredited nursing program.
• Certification as Professional Development Specialist (PDS) preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC certifications as required by department of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department directors, nursing staff, and others to identify unit-specific educational needs.
• Collaborates with other educators to prevent redundancies of educational efforts.
• Facilitates the unit/hospital orientation program for area of responsibility.
• Provides ongoing support and coaching to preceptors and/or new employees.
• Assess educational needs for orientation, in-service education and continuing education.
• Demonstrates ability to teach programs using adult learning principles and quality aids.
• Evaluates achievement of learning objectives.
• Facilitates attainment of necessary or desired educational credit from accreditation bodies.
• Participates in patient care delivery and in area of specialization.
• Acts as a resource for staff locating answers to current policies and best evidence.
• Provides clinical consultation and participates in research/evidence-based practice.
