Job summary

Casper College invites applications for a Simulation Assistant at the Health Science Simulation Center. The role provides administrative, laboratory, and operational support to the HSSC Program Director, instructors, and students.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum two years’ experience with customers and data tracking.
  • Valid Wyoming driver’s license within 30 days of hire; maintain insurability.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with standard office equipment and MS Office; willingness to learn new software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide laboratory support to the program director, leaders, and faculty.
  • Assist with documentation for simulation activities for accreditation.
  • Provide IT/AV support related to simulations and evaluations.
  • Develop systems for tracking information and records for health science programs.
  • Maintain and track simulation lab inventory and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth simulation activities.
  • Attend training related to simulation activities.
  • Set up and clean up for simulation activities.

Summary

The position of Simulation Assistant for the Health Science Simulation Center provides administrative, laboratory, and operational support to the HSSC Program Director, Health Science faculty, and Health Science students..

Responsibilities
  • Assist with all simulation needs for all HS programs
  • Maintain electronic files and paperwork directly related to simulation activities
  • Provide laboratory support to the HS simulation program director, program leaders and faculty for simulation activities
  • Assist with documentation for simulation activities as needed for accreditation
  • Provide technical support for implementing student evaluations of simulations and surveys for graduates and employers as related to simulation specifically
  • Assist with the development of appropriate systems for tracking related information and records needed for health science programs and departments
  • Maintain and track simulation lab inventory of consumables and equipment
  • Troubleshoot for HS simulation faculty to ensure simulation activities run smoothly
  • Attend training as it relates to simulation activities
  • Set-up and clean-up for simulation activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or an equivalent certificate or diploma
  • Minimum two years’ experience working with customers/clients and tracking and recording data
  • Valid motor vehicle license at the time of hire and must obtain a Wyoming driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Must maintain insurability under the College’s insurance plan.
  • Strong organizational skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Experience with standard office equipment and software (Microsoft Office Suite, internet applications) and an aptitude for learning new software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to foster positive, professional relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a college environment
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience providing IT/AV support
Work Environment

Typical work environment is a classroom, office, or simulation lab setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is usually performed during the normal workday, however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Off campus local activities are also possible, must have transportation.

Physical Demands

Employee is regularly required to sit, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required. Less frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required (mannequins, office supplies, paper boxes, etc).
