Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Austin, TX seeks a Validation Engineer to validate digital multiphase controllers. You will perform silicon evaluation at chip and board level, develop automated measurement software, and coordinate with global teams to resolve silicon and system issues.

You will deliver evaluation plans and reports on time, while maintaining calibration of lab equipment and supporting the product schedule from concept phase onward.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of semiconductor production flows.
• Validation and debugging of system, hardware and mixed-signal devices.
• Experience in automation of lab equipment.
• Python scripting for measurement automation.
• Familiar with SCPI commands to lab instruments.
• Understanding I2C, SPI, SVID, SVI3, AVS, PMBUS protocols.
• Results-oriented with ability to meet tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical silicon device evaluation at chip and board level and document errata.
• Deliver silicon evaluation plans and reports within the validation schedule.
• Self-track against the schedule and flag issues to the validation lead.
• Interface with core teams to resolve system and silicon issues.
• Develop software and hardware for automated measurements to improve efficiency.
• Suggest improvements to the silicon evaluation flow.
• Maintain calibration certificates for equipment used in validation.
