Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Validation Engineer to lead silicon evaluation for digital multiphase controllers. You will validate blocks to meet product schedules, work with global teams, and ensure a reliable sample delivery for customers.

Responsibilities include hardware/software development for automated measurements, documenting errata, and maintaining calibration of lab equipment while coordinating with design and marketing requirements.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of production flows in semiconductor industry.
• Validation and debugging of power management devices and DC/DC controllers.
• Experience with measurement automation and Python scripting.
• Familiarity with lab equipment control via SCPI commands.
• Understanding of I2C, SPI, SVID, SVI3, PMBUS and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical silicon device evaluation at chip and board level and document errata.
• Deliver silicon evaluation plans and reports within scheduled timelines.
• Self-track progress and flag blockers to the validation lead.
• Interface with core teams to resolve system and silicon issues.
• Develop software and hardware for automated measurements to improve efficiency.
• Propose improvements to silicon evaluation workflows.
• Maintain calibration certificates for equipment.
