Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is seeking a Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components for semiconductor manufacturing. You will work on ASIC architecture, logic design, and system simulations to support high-performance AMD products.

Responsibilities include verifying designs, exploring verification flows, and contributing to the synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis processes. Travel required is NO; position is on-site in the Austin area.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
• One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related software or design engineering role.
• Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing.
• Define architecture and logic design, and system simulation for ASIC development.
• Contribute to design flows and methodologies used for chip verification and testing.
• Evaluate process flows from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, timing and power use.

Job Role and Responsibility:

AMD, Inc., is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
