Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test ASIC components. You will oversee architecture, verification, and documentation for ASIC development and contribute to complex IC layouts. Travel is not required.

Master’s in a related field and 2 years of design experience are required; proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL, RTL design, and EDA tools is expected.

Job Role and Responsibility

AMD, Inc. is hiring a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Oversee definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work in an area of specialization to develop ASIC/layout design, working on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required

Two (2) years of experience as a design engineer or closely related engineering occupation.

Specific skills required

Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

• TCL, C, C++, and Perl;
• Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
• RTL design and coding;
• JTAG fundamentals;
• Utilizing Design For Test (DFT) to consider and improve testability of design;
• Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) debug and pattern generation;
• VCS simulation and pattern debug;
• Design verification;
• EDA design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis); and
• Unix or Linux environments.
