Job summary

AMD in San Jose seeks an embedded systems engineer to drive silicon debug and system integration across FPGA/SoC platforms. You will own end-to-end debugging from design-in through bring-up and production support, interfacing with design, firmware, software and field teams.

Strong writing and customer-facing skills are essential. You will work on memory controllers, interconnects, boot, and Linux images built with Yocto, generating device trees and XSA handoffs.

Qualifications

• Experience with FPGA/SoC silicon debug across multiple product generations.
• Strong understanding of SoC architecture, memory controllers, and boot flows.
• Proficient in building and customizing Linux images (Yocto-based).
• Ability to author clear customer-facing documentation and guides.

Responsibilities

• Own escalated customer support issues from bring-up to production.
• Debug across hardware/software boundaries using JTAG, logs, and timing reports.
• Develop RTL and simulate to validate features for customer designs.
• Produce technical documentation and customer-facing guides.
