Location: District Wide

Salary: $24.07 per hour – Assistant Educational Signer/Interpreter

Salary: $33.29 per hour – Signer/Interpreter – EIPA 4.0

Schedule: Varies

180‑day work year

Qualifications – Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Proficient sign language skills in a variety of systems.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language required.
  • Evidence of successful ability to work with the deaf/hard of hearing.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out prescribed instructional management program.
  • Patience and warmth in working with students.
  • Ability to assume role of educational assistant and role of interpreter.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness.
  • Ability to work effectively with professionals in a school setting.
  • Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons.
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.

Qualifications – Desired:

  • Successful experience interpreting for hearing impaired students in a school setting.
  • Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish.
  • Passing score on EIPA prior to start date, preferred.

  • Working with hearing impaired students.
