Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks an Assistant Maintenance Manager for the Signature Collection properties at Deer Valley. The role leads maintenance supervisors and technicians, overseeing daily operations, scheduling, and performance while coordinating with vendors and external contractors.

The position requires strong leadership, extensive maintenance knowledge, and a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in a building maintenance or similar leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of residence maintenance including mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and exteriors.
• Experience with maintenance control systems and budgeting/payroll procurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance supervisors and technicians across the Signature Collection portfolio.
• Oversee daily operations, staff workload, and departmental objectives.
• Provide performance feedback and conduct discipline as needed.
• Prepare monthly staff schedules and manage absences.
• Manage payroll and staff time sheets per company guidelines.
• Coordinate work orders, vendor relationships, and external contractors.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed and budgets are adhered to.
• Communicate issues to leadership and implement contingency plans.
