Job summary

The Charter Hotel Seattle is seeking a personable Bartender to deliver consistent service at the hotel bar and lounge. You will mix drinks, suggest menu items, handle payments, and maintain a clean, well-stocked bar during shifts.

Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down the bar for events, following liquor laws, and ensuring guest satisfaction. One year of bartending experience and 21+ are required; proficiency with POS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and able to work nights and weekends.
• Minimum 1 year of bartending experience.
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and standard drink recipes.
• Ability to work with POS systems and cash handling.
• Clear communication with guests, management and co-workers.
• Must follow liquor control measures and responsible service policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of all bar menu items and make recommendations to guests.
• Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
• Issue, open and serve wine/champagne bottles.
• Record transactions in POS and present the check to guests.
• Notify management of liquor or inventory shortages immediately.
• Arrange bottles and glasses for an attractive display and merchandise drinks.
• Follow state liquor laws and check IDs to ensure legal drinking age.
• Set up and maintain cleanliness of bar, tables, and tools.
• Stock ice, glassware and supplies; restock bar with liquor and supplies.
• Handle closing duties including cash reports and securing bar after shift.
• Welcome guests and acknowledge service needs with professional language.
