Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an attentive Bartender for our Seattle property. You will be responsible for setting up the bar, preparing beverages, and delivering polished service to guests and servers.

The role demands accurate cash handling, inventory awareness, and strict adherence to liquor laws. We value experience in bartending, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hotel bar environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages per state law.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work — ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Previous bartending experience helpful.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff and guests in a courteous, service‑oriented manner.
• Able to multitask and prioritize departmental duties to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up the bar area and mix drinks for guests and servers.
• Maintain service and cleanliness of the bar, ensuring quality and guest satisfaction.
• Process checks, handle cash and room charges according to standards.
• Prepare beverages and garnishes per standards and portion control guidelines.
• Assist with stock, glassware, and bar cleanliness; ensure liquor inventory control.
• Follow liquor laws and safety procedures; report issues to management.
• Attend required hotel meetings and trainings and maintain regular attendance.
