Job summary

RTD in Denver seeks a leadership role overseeing signaling, train control, and Positive Train Control (PTC) systems. You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate inspections, testing, and preventive tasks, and support budgeting and planning to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and deep knowledge of signaling and PTC hardware/software within a safety-critical commuter rail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in electronics preferred; bachelor’s in electrical engineering a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in signal, train control, or transit maintenance operations.
• Experience with light rail wayside signaling, electronic/electromechanical systems, or related control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, direction, and coordination of RTD’s signal, train control, and PTC maintenance activities.
• Supervise staff performing maintenance and repair tasks.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs and resource coordination.
• Assist in budget planning, staffing, and materials management for maintenance.
• Document inspections, repairs, tests, and equipment status.
• Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Finance, and Procurement to align with agency goals.
