Job summary

Alaska Railroad Corporation is seeking an experienced leader to manage and advance our ATCS Department, ensuring safe, efficient train control operations. You will direct maintenance, supervise staff, and oversee budgets while coordinating with other ARRC departments.

The role requires deep knowledge of train control systems, PTC regulations, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive continuous improvement and safety across ARRC operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, computer science, engineering, information systems or related field.
• Five years of experience leading, managing, implementing, supporting, testing, maintaining, engineering, administering, or overseeing train control systems or related projects.
• Excellent knowledge of train control systems, telecommunications, networks, signaling systems, or related railroad technologies.

Responsibilities

• Directs the maintenance and management of ARRC train control systems.
• Oversees Positive Train Control (PTC) compliance and implementation.
• Sets priorities and oversees ATCS team activities and budgets.
• Develops short- and long-range department goals and performance targets.
• Ensures real-time support and coordination with other ARRC departments.
