Job summary

SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. seeks a Signal/Power Integrity Hardware Engineer in San Jose to develop next-generation SSD products.

You will own SI/PI for controller packages and PCB designs, validate designs in lab, and collaborate with SoC, FW, and packaging teams to meet stringent performance targets. The role requires strong experience in high-speed interfaces (PCIe Gen4/5/6, DDR4/5), EM simulations, and hands-on lab measurements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
• 4-8+ years of relevant working experience.
• High-speed SSD board designs, pre layout simulation, post layout simulation and design layout guide generation for PCIe Gen4/5/6, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/4x, NVIO and PDN.
• Strong fundamentals in 3D/2D EM simulation tools and transmission line theory.
• Experience with EM field solvers and time/frequency domain tools like Sigrity, Allegro, ADS, HFSS, SIWAVE, and HSPICE.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring of engineers.
• Provide SI/PI expertise for SSD controller package (SoC) substrate design and SSD PCB design.
• Participate in the design of SSD products including guidelines, reviews and validation reports.
• Support PCB back-end process: stack-up, HDI vias, part placement and routing constraints.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements in lab verification/validation.
• Collaborate with SoC, FW, package, and circuit design engineers.
• Document and communicate designs to teams and executives.
• Perform debugging and root cause analysis across development stages and escalations.
