Job summary

ZP Better Together, LLC. in Orlando is seeking a Team Manager - Practitioner to oversee interpreting operations and supervise about 35 interpreters.

The role combines directing daily call-center activities, coordinating schedules, and driving growth across VRS, Community, and VRI service lines. You must be fluent in American Sign Language and English, pass an internal interpreting assessment, and have at least three years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess fluent American Sign Language and spoken English language skills, accurate interpreting skills, and thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
• Must pass internal interpreting assessment
• Required 20 hours per week scheduled on the VRS platform between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m, local time, Monday through Friday
• Associates degree in Business Management, or comparable related experience; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
• At least three years of supervisory experience, preferably in an interpreting-related environment
• Extensive knowledge of the deaf culture and interpreting professions
• Familiarity with FCC Regulations and RID standards
• Knowledge of software related to operations including IM Service, databases, spreadsheets, and presentation/word processing programs
• Time management skills to handle multiple priorities under pressure
• Budgeting and financial knowledge for tracking operations profitability
• Strong communication and people-management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide American Sign Language interpreting on the VRS platform
• Focus management objectives on interpreting operations
• Plan with Regional Manager the strategic growth of interpreting business lines (VRS, Community, and VRI)
• Oversee daily operations of interpreting operations including call centers, at-home interpreting, community interpreting, CART, video interpreting, and community relations
• Supervise approximately 35 interpreting staff
• Manage performance reviews of interpreters
• Approve scheduling of all interpreters in all operational areas
• Coordinate with HR and Recruiting to select and hire interpreters
• Approve time and attendance, including leave, for all interpreters
• Maintain relations with local community leaders
• Work with schedulers and business development to maintain client service and satisfaction
• Provide direction to interpreters for their care and well-being
• Provide reports on team performance and efficiency
• Maintain contact with Regional Manager on operations issues
• Ensure Mission of delighting customers with open, welcoming, inclusive culture
• Collaborate with support management on department-wide initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
