Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. seeks a Team Manager - Practitioner to lead interpreters on the VRS platform and oversee the day-to-day operations of their interpreting teams in Florida.

The role includes supervising about 35 interpreters, planning staffing, and driving growth across VRS, Community, and VRI lines. The ideal candidate has an ASL/English background, a strong grasp of interpretive standards, and at least three years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess fluent American Sign Language and spoken English language skills, accurate interpreting skills, and knowledge of the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Must pass internal interpreting assessment.
• Associates degree in Business Management, or comparable related experience; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
• At least three years of supervisory experience, preferably in an interpreting-related environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpreting on the VRS platform and manage interpreting operations.
• Supervise approximately 35 interpreting staff and oversee scheduling and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with HR to hire interpreters and manage time/attendance across all shifts.
• Plan strategic growth of VRS, Community, and VRI business lines with Regional Manager.
• Provide reports on team performance, efficiencies, and quality; ensure customer delight.
