Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an Interpreter Training Program to reach practicum level.
  • Ability to pass a basic skills screening with the ASR Interpreting team.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between assignments within the service area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sign language interpretation (voice and signing) for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and staff.
  • Analyze source content to accurately convey meaning to the target audience.
  • Communicate client status and concerns to the supervisor.
  • Research new or complex information to prepare for interpretation.
  • Commit to assigned courses or semester-long assignments.
  • Model ethical, inclusive behavior at all times.
