Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to facilitate communication in the classroom, interpret spoken language into sign language and support students' participation in lessons and activities.

You will collaborate with teachers and staff to provide accessible instruction, assist with extracurricular events, and help students build social connections; the role offers a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating Communication: Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to ensure the student can fully understand and participate in classroom activities and discussions.
• Supporting Academic Success: Interpret lectures, instructions, and multimedia content to help the student engage with the curriculum.
• Encouraging Social Interaction: Facilitate communication between the student and peers to support social development and inclusion.
• Providing Accessibility: Interpret during extracurricular activities, assemblies, and events to ensure equal access to school life.
• Collaborating with Staff: Work with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to tailor strategies to student needs.
