Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Educational Interpreter to support Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students in our Maryland classrooms. You will bridge communication between students, teachers, and staff, ensuring accurate and neutral interpretation during lessons and events.

Qualifications

• Interpreting for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students in classroom.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, events, meetings, and assemblies for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students.
• Voice the student's signed communication accurately and neutrally for teachers, staff, and peers.
• Support student participation in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-sponsored activities.
• Convey important auditory environmental cues to students.
• Assist with behavior support plans and model appropriate communication behaviors.

• Voice the student's signed communication accurately and neutrally for teachers, staff, and peers
• Support student participation in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school‑sponsored activities.
• Convey important auditory environmental cues (bells, alarms, announcements) to students.
• Assist with behavior support plans and model appropriate communication behaviors when needed
