Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a dynamic school setting in Goose Creek, SC. You will interpret spoken language into sign language and ensure students can participate fully in classroom activities.

You will collaborate with teachers and staff to adapt strategies, interpret lectures and multimedia, and promote social inclusion and accessibility during extracurricular events and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Sign language fluency and ability to interpret between spoken and signed languages.
• Strong communication skills and patience for working with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication by interpreting spoken language into sign language and vice versa in the classroom.
• Interpret lectures, instructions, and multimedia content to support curriculum engagement.
• Support social interaction by facilitating peer communication.
• Provide accessibility during extracurricular activities and events.
• Collaborate with staff to adapt strategies for the student’s needs.
