Job summary

Columbus City Schools in Columbus, Ohio seeks a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to facilitate communication between hearing and deaf or hard of hearing students in educational settings. Qualifications

Certificate of completion from an Ohio Department of Higher Education approved licensure program for interpreters.
Associate License of Interpreter for the Hearing Impaired from the Ohio Department of Education. Substitution: Temporary Interpreter license may be substituted.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Interpret for deaf and hard of hearing in classrooms at both elementary and secondary levels and at off-site locations.
Reinforce classroom information for deaf and hard of hearing students across subjects.
Interpret for students and staff at worksites and during field trips to provide access to educational content.
Interpret at extracurricular activities, sports, meetings, and assemblies.
Interpret at parent/teacher conferences and IEP meetings involving deaf or hard of hearing participants.
