Job summary

Ampersand Therapy in Gastonia, NC is hiring a Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves providing ASL interpretation for a student throughout the school day in a 1:1 setting and supporting access to curriculum and social interactions.

This position can be full-time or part-time (W-2 with benefits, healthcare, 401(k) with company match). Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs, mileage between sites, and referral bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Experience providing ASL interpretation in a school setting preferred.
• Evidence of EIPA score 3.5 or higher required.
• Ability to support a student 1:1 throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct ASL interpretation for a student during school hours.
• Facilitate communication between student, peers, and staff.
• Support curriculum access and social interactions in the classroom.
• Collaborate with the student’s educational team.
