Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for a school setting in Thomas County, GA. You will provide real-time ASL/English interpretation to ensure access to instruction and school activities for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and real-time interpretation.
• Certification or licensure as an ASL interpreter (e.g., RID or state credentials).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with teachers and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classrooms and activities.
• Interpret spoken language into ASL and ASL into spoken English in real time.
• Support student understanding while preserving teacher communication integrity.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related services to support IEPs.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant confidentiality and adapt interpreting style to student needs.
• Participate in meetings and professional development as required.
