Job summary

TM Signs & Graphics in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an experienced Sign Designer/Maker to join a small, tight-knit team on-site. This production-focused role goes beyond graphic design, turning raw materials into high-quality signs with responsibility and ownership.

A typical day involves designing with Adobe Illustrator, producing signs from vinyl, metal, and acrylic substrates, applying graphics, performing quality checks, and installing simple signs while keeping a clean, organized workspace

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on sign production experience
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
• Self-starter who can work independently
• Excellent work ethic and attention to detail
• Reliable team player with a positive attitude
• Organized and takes ownership of workspace
• Strong communication skills and sense of urgency

Responsibilities

• Develop sign designs to meet client goals using Adobe Illustrator and other platforms
• Produce signs using raw materials like vinyl, laminate, metal, and acrylic substrates
• Print, laminate, cut vinyl on the plotter, mask/weed, and apply graphics
• Perform quality control checking spelling, color, size, and proof match
• Install simple signs: door graphics, vehicle wraps, wall/fence mounts
• Keep production area clean and organized and manage tool storage
• Track project records electronically and on paper
• Monitor waste and participate in daily production meetings
