Job summary

Job description

Summary

The SIGINT Instructor operates under the direction of the Lead Instructor and is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom, practical, and airborne instruction in support of customer mission requirements. The instructor teaches SIGINT analysis concepts and provides technical expertise and guidance on complex analytical problems, with particular emphasis on advanced signals, signal characteristics, and associated weapons systems.

The SIGINT Instructor develops, maintains, validates, and coordinates current and future course content, including lesson plans, practical exercises, examinations, computer-based training, and mission-focused scenarios. Responsibilities also include developing and executing training scenarios onboard aircraft to reinforce classroom instruction and provide students with realistic, mission-relevant application of SIGINT concepts and analytical techniques.

The instructor monitors student performance, provides constructive feedback and remediation as required, and identifies opportunities to improve course content, instructional methods, and training effectiveness. The SIGINT Instructor works closely with the Lead Instructor and Course Development team to ensure instructional materials remain technically accurate, relevant to evolving mission requirements, and aligned with the approved Training Support Plan.

The SIGINT Instructor is also responsible for maintaining a professional and engaging learning environment, supporting the accountability and proper use of training equipment, and performing assigned instructional duties at both primary and alternate training locations. All duties will be performed in accordance with organizational requirements, applicable customer guidance, and the DS Technologies Employee Handbook.

Essential Functions
  1. Technical SIGINT Expertise – Proficiently utilize Technical SIGINT analysis tools and software to identify and differentiate signal types, characterize signal parameters, perform bit-level analysis, and support COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, and PROFORMA analysis.
  2. Analysis and Quality Assurance – Conduct technical analysis of intelligence products to assess quality, identify trends or deficiencies, and develop improved collection and processing methodologies for use in an instructional environment.
  3. Classroom Instruction – Possess formal classroom instructional experience and effectively deliver lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, and other training in accordance with approved lesson plans and established schedules.
  4. Classroom Management – Prepare classrooms and training resources prior to instruction and maintain an organized, professional learning environment conducive to student participation and effective learning.
  5. Student Assessment – Administer and proctor examinations, monitor and document student comprehension and progress, and adjust instructional methods or provide remediation as necessary to achieve established learning objectives.
  6. Equipment Accountability – Maintain accountability and operational awareness of high-value training equipment, identify equipment malfunctions, and promptly coordinate equipment status and discrepancies with the Field Service Representative (FSR).
  7. Curriculum Development – Provide constructive course feedback and collaborate with the Lead Instructor and Course Developer to maintain, update, and improve curriculum based on student performance, mission requirements, and lessons learned.
  8. Training Material Development – Develop and submit new or revised instructional content, including lesson material, practical exercises, quizzes and examinations, flight scenarios, computer-based training modules, and corrections or enhancements to existing courseware.
  9. Training Innovation – Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, analytical capabilities, and instructional tools that enhance student learning and ensure training remains aligned with evolving customer mission requirements.
  10. Travel/Modular Instruction – Travel periodically to other locations to provide instructional support, including modular, mobile, or mission-specific training.
  11. Additional Responsibilities – Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Instructor in support of organizational, customer, and mission requirements.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch. However, frequent evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel may be required as requested by customers. Traveling includes overnight stays outside of the standard working location.

Required Education and Experience
  1. Associate's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Intelligence Studies) or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Six (6) years of SIGINT collection and analysis experience.
  3. Working knowledge of the SIGINT Enterprise.
Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Four (4) Years of experience with Special Operations Forces (SOF) correlated to SIGINT and/or EW
  2. Instructor Certification (ADET, NCS, BIC, etc.)
  3. Instructional Systems Design Certification.
  4. Understanding of EW, SIGINT, and Cyber disciplines.
  5. Veteran.
Other Hiring Requirements
  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. U.S. Citizenship.
  3. Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret level clearance with Polygraph.
  4. Pass an FAA Class III flight physical.
  5. Must be able to obtain a passport.
