Job summary

Agillabs.ai seeks an experienced Industrial Controls Engineer to provide hands-on support for Siemens-based production equipment and automated systems.

You will troubleshoot PLC/NC control systems, HMIs, and network issues, diagnose faults with STEP 7 and TIA Portal, and perform safe program modifications.

Collaborate with maintenance and operations to resolve issues, support commissioning and continuous improvement, and ensure safety and cybersecurity compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Hands-on Siemens PLC experience across S7-300/400/1200/1500.
• Troubleshooting HMIs, PROFINET/Ethernet networks, drives, sensors.
• Strong root cause analysis and downtime minimization skills.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication for customer discussions.
• Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical/Controls Eng or related field.
• Willingness to work onsite and support flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on controls support for production equipment and automated systems.
• Troubleshoot Siemens PLC, NC/CNC, HMI, I/O, motion control, drives, and networks.
• Diagnose faults using STEP 7 and TIA Portal; perform safe program modifications.
• Support Siemens PLC platforms and associated NC control systems in manufacturing.
• Respond to downtime events; perform root cause analysis and restore production.
• Maintain backups of PLC/NC programs, machine parameters, and control docs.
• Collaborate with maintenance, manufacturing, quality, operations, and OEMs to resolve issues.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and improvements.
• Ensure safety, lockout/tagout, cybersecurity, and change-management compliance.
• Provide clear communication on issues, actions, and project status to stakeholders.
