Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invites applications for the Sidney Fernbach Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Computing Sciences. This highly selective program awards one postdoctoral researcher the freedom to pursue original research across computational mathematics, scientific computing, computer science, data science, or AI for science.

The Fellow will work in an interdisciplinary environment with access to LLNL’s world-class HPC resources and Livermore Computing.

Qualifications

• PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related computational science.
• Demonstrated creativity, exceptional ability, and strong knowledge in the computing sciences.
• Proven ability to conduct original, independent research with a track record of scientific accomplishment.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills to interact with a multidisciplinary team and present work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original and independent research in computing sciences.
• Present results in LLNL seminars and major conferences.
• Publish results in refereed journals.
• Collaborate with internal and external scientists across disciplines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
