Job summary

City of McAllen seeks an on-site laborer to support the development of a wide range of public works projects. The role involves preparing work sites, setting grades and forms, and coordinating utility spotting, with tasks spanning concrete work, drainage, signs, fencing, and earthwork.

Occasional minor electrical repairs and welding may be required. Ideal candidates are reliable, physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions, contributing to high-quality public

• Perform manual labor for the development of a wide variety of projects.
• Prepare work sites, set grades and forms, coordinate utility spotting.
• Assist with concrete work, installation of signs and fencing, drainage and earthwork operations.
• Handle minor electrical repairs and welding tasks as needed.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to perform manual labor involved with the development of a wide variety of projects. This includes, but is not limited to, concrete work, preparing work sites, setting grades and forms, coordinating utility spotting, building maintenance, minor electrical repairs, installation of signs and fencing, installation of drainage, completion of earthwork operations and welding
