Job summary

City of McAllen is seeking a Groundskeeper to landscape and maintain city grounds using hand and power tools. This role performs a variety of manual tasks across sod, mowing, planting, watering, and irrigation systems.

Under supervision, you will help keep parks and public spaces welcoming and safe for residents and visitors, contributing to the city’s outdoor beautification and maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Landscape and maintain grounds using hand and power tools.
• Perform sod laying, mowing, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler system work.

Job description

Under immediate supervision, the Groundskeeper landscapes and maintains grounds of property using hand tools, power tools or miscellaneous equipment. Employee typically performs a variety of manual tasks which include any combination of sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler systems.
