Job summary

City of McAllen, TX seeks a Groundskeeper to landscape and maintain city grounds using hand and power tools. The role involves mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler system work as part of a team dedicated to quality public spaces.

Under supervision, you will perform a variety of manual tasks and assist with sod laying and other grounds maintenance activities to keep parks and facilities looking their best.

Qualifications

• Experience with hand and power tools is preferred.
• Ability to perform varied manual tasks and follow safety protocols.
• Reliable with good physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Landscape and maintain grounds using hand tools, power tools, or equipment.
• Mow, trim, plant, water, fertilize, dig, rake, and manage sprinkler systems.
• Support sod laying and general grounds care as directed.

Under immediate supervision, the Groundskeeper landscapes and maintains grounds of property using hand tools, power tools or miscellaneous equipment. Employee typically performs a variety of manual tasks which include any combination of sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler systems.
