Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) on a full-time day shift. The RN will execute professional nursing care per physician plans to ensure patient comfort and safety, assess needs, plan and implement treatments, and document progress.

The role collaborates with the health team and participates in new employee orientation. Minimum qualifications include NYS RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and TCAR certification, with preferred BSN.

Qualifications

• Current New York State license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification and de-escalation training.
• ACLS.
• TCAR Certification.
• Ability to lift or carry more than 75 lbs.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with physician treatment plans.
• Assess patient needs, plan and implement treatment, observe progress and document observations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health team to meet holistic patient needs and orient new staff.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process and develop a care plan.
