Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, a teaching hospital and Level I trauma center in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, invites a Physician Assistant-SICU to join our Per Diem team. You will provide critical care to SICU patients, follow established protocols, and assist physicians and nurses as needed.

Responsibilities include preventive counseling, direct care, documenting encounters, rounds participation, on-call coverage, and collaboration with the care team to maintain patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Currently Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
• DEA Certificate required.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive health services including counseling and teaching in Health Maintenance and problem related areas.
• Provide direct care to individuals and families consistent with the philosophy of NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn and departmental goals; ensure safety and patient rights.
• Documentation of all patient encounters including assessment, progress notes, treatment, teaching, follow-up, referrals.
• Evaluation and management of critical care patients.
• Attend rounds with the attending staff and housestaff; collaborate with healthcare professionals and families.
• Be on call during non-working hours to assist attendings in urgent situations.
