SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY seeks a full-time Registered Nurse 1 for the NS24 SICU, nights. You will provide direct nursing care, participate in treatment planning, and support a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced surgical ICU environment.

Required: NYS RN license; preferred BSN and 1 year of clinical experience. The department offers clinical training, infection control adherence, and opportunities to mentor staff.

Qualifications

Open Competitive: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Responsibilities

Prepares or assists with preparation of nursing care plans.
Carries out treatment procedures and monitors patients.
Records notes and maintains medical records including vital signs.
Participates in development and revision of care plans as part of a team.
Trains paraprofessional staff in nursing techniques.
