Montclair State University seeks a Shuttle Supervisor to lead field supervision of transportation operations between the Montclair and Bloomfield campuses. This role oversees drivers, coordinates schedules, and ensures safety procedures are followed in accordance with DOT and university policies.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree, three years of supervisory experience in transportation, and a NJ CDL with passenger endorsement. Flexibility for shifts, holidays, and overtime is essential.
Reporting to the Director of Transportation Services, the Shuttle Supervisor is responsible for field supervision of transportation operations and the daily execution of bus service between the Montclair and Bloomfield campuses. The Shuttle Supervisor is additionally responsible for direct oversight and evaluation of transportation drivers. The Supervisor also monitors personnel and equipment to assist in the coordination of service and schedules, ensures compliance with safety procedures and confers with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, or requests for service or equipment.
*NOTE: This is a Civil Service position. As required by the State of New Jersey, in order to be certified to the position and attain permanent status in title, candidates are required to successfully serve a 4-Month Working Test Period. This position is designated as essential. The designation of essential requires employees at these 24/7 facilities to be present due to inclement weather situations. This position requires on campus work and is not a position that allows remote work.
R24: $76,286.63 - $111,856.03
*NOTE: Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission’s formula. Salaries for external candidates are determined up to step four, $86,957.45.
Salary Range $76,286.63-$86,957.45 Annually
