Montclair State University seeks a Grounds Worker to perform horticultural tasks and maintain the university landscape. The role involves monitoring grounds for needs such as fertilizing, pest control, weeding, pruning, and watering, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
The incumbent will handle lawn care, seasonal planting installations, snow removal, and maintenance of athletic fields and surrounding areas.
Reporting to the Assistant Head Grounds Worker, the Grounds Worker performs tasks that result in horticultural sound practices leading to first-rate care of the University's landscape.
This position is designated as essential. The designation of essential requires employees at these 24/7 facilities to be present due to inclement weather situations. This position requires on campus work and is not a position that allows remote work.
O10: $40,321.62 - $57,948.52
Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission’s formula. Salaries for external candidates are determined up to step four, $45,609.69.
This position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
