Job summary

SP+ Corporation in Chicago, IL is hiring for a shuttle bus operator to ensure the safe and proper operation of buses, assist passengers, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. The role requires a valid state driver’s license, punctual attendance, and a clean DMV record.

Responsibilities include inspections, logging trips, assisting disabled passengers, answering questions, and responding to hazards or incidents while supporting the Facility Manager and covering shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Less than High School education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The employee will be required to have and maintain a valid state driver’s license, with a current address and an acceptable DMV record.
• Availability to work special shifts; 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.
• Language Skills: Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information to customers and colleagues.
• Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, two-digit numbers; multiply and divide with 10s and 100s; perform operations using US money.
• Appearance: Maintain neat and clean appearance and wear complete uniform.
• Physical Demands: Stand, walk, handle cash/equipment; may lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performing vehicle inspections and maintaining cleanliness of bus interiors.
• Fueling buses, logging trip counts and assisting disabled passengers.
• Be at work on time and in uniform; operate shuttle buses as needed.
• Direct customers to the Facility Manager when necessary.
• Communicate hazards, accidents or policy violations to the Facility Manager.
• Assist customers with luggage and operating shuttle buses at airports when applicable.
• Support the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
