Job summary

Baywood Hotels seeks a dedicated maintenance engineer to uphold safety, inspect systems, and perform preventive and corrective repairs across guest rooms and public areas.

You will maintain boilers, electrical and mechanical equipment, handle carpentry and plumbing tasks, and keep detailed logs. The role requires physical capacity and a proactive, service-oriented approach to keep the property in top condition.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred; Technical school training in maintenance and related field preferred.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or similar environment is advantageous; relevant on-the-job training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and reports discrepancies; maintains boilers, electrical equipment, and building systems.
• Performs minor repairs to fans, air-conditioning, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
• Updates maintenance logs and assists in preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinates with health, safety and building inspectors to ensure codes compliance.
• Maintains exterior areas and pool per brand standards and county requirements.
• Operates vehicles safely, logs mileage, and supports other departments as needed.
