Job summary

Grand Forks Public Schools in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a part-time School Bus Driver for the 9-month academic year. The role requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to transport children safely on early morning and late afternoon routes.

Split shifts 6:30am–9:30am and 2:30pm–5:00pm, Monday through Friday when school is in session. Daily vehicle safety checks and ensuring children are buckled before travel are essential; training in First Aid and CPR/Choking is

• Ability to communicate in sign language is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Check the vehicle each day for safety and maintenance.
• Transport one child to and from Devils Lake daily.
• Insure that the child is buckled into safety seat before proceeding on route.
• Enforce vehicle policies and rules with child.
• Willingness to be trained in First Aid and CPR/Choking.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Terms of Employment:

Nine (9) months, academic school year

Split Hours:

6:30am - 9:30am and 2:30pm - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, when school is in session

Evaluation:

Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervisor.
