Job summary

Great American Insurance Group’s Specialty Human Services division seeks an Intern in our downtown Cincinnati office for a summer program. The internship blends claims exposure with cross-functional learning and provides a clear path toward a claims career.

Expect a hands-on experience spanning analysis, investigation, and negotiation across SHS functions. The 10-week program offers seminars through Claims College and Great American University, with projects and opportunities to meet

Qualifications

• 3.5 preferred GPA, with a 3.0 minimum GPA for consideration.
• Proven leadership through work experience (prior internship/co-ops are a plus), campus involvement, or extracurricular activities.
• Superior communication, analysis, planning, and organizing skills.
• Self-motivated, as the internship may have virtual aspects or self-directed projects.

Responsibilities

• Participating in special projects within the claims and operations groups as assigned.
• Learning about claim handling assignments within SHS including: initial coverage analysis, first contact, investigation, resolution strategy, and negotiation.
• Working with the operations team to enter new loss information, update the litigation database, and perform other operations team functions.
• Learning and performing functions utilizing the various claims systems, programs, and databases.
• Engaging in reading assignments and case studies to build claims knowledge.
• Participating in seminars and workshops provided by Claims College and Great American University.
